Hildegard Korger Calligrapher (b. 1935, Reichenberg, d. 2018) and professor of calligraphy and writing at HGB Leipzig (Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig) since 1968. Her typefaces: Her calligraphic typeface Daphne, aka Typo-Skript, was published by Typoart in 1965. See also here. Ingo Preuss revived Daphne as Daphne (2004). ARTypes revived it as Typoskript AR in 2010. And Ralph M. Unger created his own revival, Typoskript Pro (2010). Ingo Preuss's version is Floridana. Kis Antiqua and Kis Kursiv (1984, Typoart). For a digital revival, see Ralph Unger's Kis Antiqua Pro (2018). In 2009, Elsner & Flake published the Kis Antiqua Now TB Pro and families (design by Erhard Kaiser for Elsner & Flake). The Elsner Flake types are based on Hildegard Korger's Kis Antiqua at Typoart. Kis Antiqua is the Typoart name of the original Jansonian Garamond by Miklos Totfalusi Kis from 1686. Korger designed some other calligraphic alphabets. A digital version of one of them, originally drawn in 1965, was created by Ingo Preuss, who called it Korger Hand (2004). Author of Handbook of Type and Lettering (1992, Design Press, or Lund Humphries), a translation of The Sixth Edition of Schrift und Schreiben (Fachbuchverlag GmbH Leipzig, 1971), which has been lauded as the best books ever on type and typography.
